Two Students with Covid-19 in Good Health Ready for High School Exams

PHNOM PENH: Ministry of Education spokesman Ros Soveacha told EAC News the two candidates at the National Center for Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control had successfully completed their first day exams with good health and are able to continue their exams tomorrow.

Ros Soveacha said the national “bacii” exam processed this Monday across the country went smoothly, with security and good order at all 204 examination centers. Candidates have complied with the exam regulations and implemented health and safety measures with high attention and responsibility from all parties involved. He added that although some candidates have health problems, after being examined and rescued by a team of doctors, they can return to the exam.

Some candidates who have experienced health problems, include dizziness, nausea and vomiting, have received first aid from a team of doctors at the examination center in order to be able to return to the exam.

Regarding the two Taekwondo fighters who have went to Kazakhstan for their competition, testing positive for Covid-19 on the way back, are in good health during the writing process today and can continue their exams under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, as well as the Ministry of Health.

According to the report released, on the first day of the Baccalaureate exam, 29 candidates had health problems, including the two candidates with Covid-19 disease. Another seven candidates had overheated temperatures, guided to be tested in separate rooms while twenty candidates had other health problems.

Candidates with health and positive Covid-19 disease can continue the exam until the end under the supervision of the jury, health agencies and relevant authorities. In the exam process on the first day, there were also two judges with health problems.

The high school diploma exam for the academic year 2020-2021 will take place from 27-28 December 2021, with 114,183 candidates, including 60,397 females. The results of the exam will be announced on 18-19 January 2022.
